Gatorland is a 110-acre theme park and wildlife preserve located in Orange County, Florida at the head of the Florida Everglades. It was founded by Owen Godwin in 1949, as a small roadside attraction and is still privately owned by his family today. From humble beginning Gatorland it is now internationally known as The Alligator Capital of the World. Your Gatorland Discount Tickets will get you access to thousands of alligators and crocodiles, a breeding marsh with boardwalk and observation tower, reptile shows, aviary, petting zoo, swamp walk and educational programs. Gator Land Orlando's unique entry is a favorite photo opportunity for guests. There must be hundreds of photographs in albums across America showing family members inside the gaping gator's mouth. Once inside you are entering a world that is part wildlife preserve and part zoo, a world filled with gators, crocs, rides, shows and educational presentations.

Gatorland Shows

Gator Land Florida's gators are the stars of four different shows. The Gator Jumparoo Show is a unique show, featuring some of the largest alligators in the world. These huge gators actually jump four to five feet out of the water to grab food out of their trainer's hand. Watch a gator wrangler catch a six to eight foot long alligator with just his bare hands in the Gator Wrestlin' show. In the Jungle Crocs four rare species of crocodiles demonstrate their awe inspiring strength. These crocodiles are some of the largest and most dangerous crocodiles on the planet. The Upclose Animal Encounters Show gives you the opportunity to meet many fascinating creatures from all around the globe as well as some of Florida's native wildlife.

Gatorland is More Than Just Gators

Alligators are not the only entertainment in this 110-acre park. Your Gator Land tickets also get you access to Gatorland's breeding marsh with boardwalk and observation tower, one of a kind reptile shows, aviary, petting zoo, swamp walk, educational programs and much more. Drop by Allie's Barnyard and visit some of the barnyard animals that consider Gatorland their home. Gatorland's Very Merry Aviary is home to the colorful and friendly Lorikeets. These brightly colored parrots are native to the Western Pacific and East Indies area. Alligator Island is located in the northern section of Gatorland's Gator Lake, is home to the largest reptiles in the park. Hundreds of alligators inhabit the lake, and Alligator Island is the best place to see Gator Land's largest alligators and crocodiles up close and personal as they soak up the Florida sun.

The Breeding Marsh & Bird Rookery was created in 1991 as a natural breeding area for Gatorland's gators, the 10 acre Gator Land Florida Breeding Marsh contains 130 adult alligators. Living their lives in a completely natural environment. A three-story observation tower and raised walkways give visitors a bird's eye view of the Breeding Marsh and Bird Rookery. This natural breeding area for alligators is also a haven for Florida's birds. The Gator Land Swamp Walk located at the southern end of the park is self guided tour through an unspoiled native Cypress Swamp. A raised wooden walkway snakes itself through the Cypress trees affording visitors a rare look back into what much of Central Florida looked like before people began draining the wetlands to start their farms and homesteads.

Gatorland's Flamingo Lagoon is home to a small colony of American Flamingos, these majestic flamingos can reach a height of 5 feet. Most people have a fascination with snakes, with many individuals having a deathly fear of them. At Snakes of Florida you will learn that snakes are basically misunderstood reptiles that have gotten a bad reputation, and that snakes play an important role in our environment. Florida has many different varieties of snakes, most of which are completely harmless to humans. Lilly's Pad Splash Zone is a great place to bring your kids to cool off. The area also features a playground with slides and play towers for the kids, and comfortable covered seating for the parents to watch their children play.
