The Characters, The Costumes and The Music
La NOUBA has a cast of over 70 performers from around the world including gymnasts, acrobats, dancers and clowns. Prior to the beginning of the show, two clowns enter the arena and set the stage by interacting with guests and pulling a stunt or two on a few of the audience members. The show then begins with a parade of select characters and performers who make their way across the aisles. A few of the show highlights include a high wire act, a BMX rider, aerial ballet, a flying trapeze artist and a trampoline act like you've never seen before. The costumes were created in two drastically different styles to separate the urban people from their counterparts the circus people The circus people all wear bright, neon colors while the urbanites are in mostly black, gray, and muted tones. Many of the performers undergo a transformation highlighted by dramatic costume changes. All the music is performed live at La Nouba by six musicians and two singers. The music is at times sorrowful, others upbeat and often mysterious. Jazz, hip-hop and other styles of music come together in an amazing way. The Music is perfectly coordinated to all the action on stage.
